1    AN ACT concerning regulation.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The University of Illinois Hospital Act is
5amended by adding Section 8g as follows:
 
6    (110 ILCS 330/8g new)
7    Sec. 8g. University of Illinois Hospital employee
8assistance programs. The University of Illinois Hospital shall
9ensure that employees of the University of Illinois Hospital
10are aware of employee assistance programs or other like
11programs available for the physical and mental well-being of
12the employee. The University of Illinois Hospital shall
13provide information on these programs, no less than at the
14time of employment and during any benefit open enrollment
15period. The University of Illinois Hospital may provide this
16information to employees electronically.
 
17    Section 10. The Assisted Living and Shared Housing Act is
18amended by adding Section 77 as follows:
 
19    (210 ILCS 9/77 new)
20    Sec. 77. Establishment employee assistance programs. An
21establishment shall ensure that licensed health care

1professionals employed by the establishment are aware of
2employee assistance programs or other like programs available
3for the physical and mental well-being of the employee. The
4establishment shall provide information on these programs, no
5less than at the time of employment and during any benefit open
6enrollment period, by an information form about the respective
7programs that a licensed health care professional must sign
8during onboarding at the establishment. The signed information
9form shall be added to the licensed health care professional's
10personnel file. The establishment may provide this information
11to licensed health care professionals electronically.
 
12    Section 15. The Community Living Facilities Licensing Act
13is amended by adding Section 5.10 as follows:
 
14    (210 ILCS 35/5.10 new)
15    Sec. 5.10. Community Living Facility employee assistance
16programs. A Community Living Facility shall ensure that
17licensed health care professionals employed by the Community
18Living Facility are aware of employee assistance programs or
19other like programs available for the physical and mental
20well-being of the employee. The Community Living Facility
21shall provide information on these programs, no less than at
22the time of employment and during any benefit open enrollment
23period, by an information form about the respective programs
24that a licensed health care professional must sign during

1onboarding at the Community Living Facility. The signed
2information form shall be added to the licensed health care
3professional's personnel file. The Community Living Facility
4may provide this information to licensed health care
5professionals electronically.
 
6    Section 20. The Life Care Facilities Act is amended by
7adding Section 10.2 as follows:
 
8    (210 ILCS 40/10.2 new)
9    Sec. 10.2. Facility employee assistance programs. A
10facility shall ensure that nurses employed by the facility are
11aware of employee assistance programs or other like programs
12available for the physical and mental well-being of the
13employee. The facility shall provide information on these
14programs, no less than at the time of employment and during any
15benefit open enrollment period, by an information form about
16the respective programs that the nurse must sign during
17onboarding at the facility. The signed information form shall
18be added to the nurse's personnel file. The facility may
19provide this information to nurses electronically.
 
20    Section 25. The Nursing Home Care Act is amended by adding
21Section 3-613 as follows:

1    Sec. 3-613. Facility employee assistance programs. A
2facility shall ensure that nurses employed by the facility are
3aware of employee assistance programs or other like programs
4available for the physical and mental well-being of the
5employee. The facility shall provide information on these
6programs, no less than at the time of employment and during any
7benefit open enrollment period, by an information form about
8the respective programs that a nurse must sign during
9onboarding at the facility. The signed information form shall
10be added to the nurse's personnel file. The facility may
11provide this information to nurses electronically.
 
12    Section 30. The MC/DD Act is amended by adding Section
133-613 as follows:
 
14    (210 ILCS 46/3-613 new)
15    Sec. 3-613. Facility employee assistance programs. A
16facility shall ensure that nurses employed by the facility are
17aware of employee assistance programs or other like programs
18available for the physical and mental well-being of the
19employee. The facility shall provide information on these
20programs, no less than at the time of employment and during any
21benefit open enrollment period, by an information form about
22the respective programs that a nurse must sign during
23onboarding at the facility. The signed information form shall

2    Section 35. The ID/DD Community Care Act is amended by
3adding Section 3-613 as follows:
 
4    (210 ILCS 47/3-613 new)
5    Sec. 3-613. Facility employee assistance programs. A
6facility shall ensure that nurses employed by the facility are
7aware of employee assistance programs or other like programs
8available for the physical and mental well-being of the
9employee. The facility shall provide information on these
10programs, no less than at the time of employment and during any
11benefit open enrollment period, by an information form about
12the respective programs that a nurse must sign during
13onboarding at the facility. The signed information form shall
14be added to the nurse's personnel file. The facility may
15provide this information to nurses electronically.
 
16    Section 40. The Hospital Licensing Act is amended by
17adding Section 6.33 as follows:
 
18    (210 ILCS 85/6.33 new)
19    Sec. 6.33. Hospital employee assistance programs. A
20hospital licensed under this Act shall ensure that employees
21of the hospital are made aware of employee assistance programs
22or other like programs available for the physical and mental
