SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Iris Mamie Nixon of Waukegan, who passed away on September 7, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Iris Nixon was born in Waukegan to Ira and Mamie Nixon on April 12, 1959; she graduated from North Chicago Community High School in 1977; and

WHEREAS, Iris Nixon was a longtime employee of Lake Forest Hospital, where she worked in the dietary office; she always greeted others with a smile; and

WHEREAS, Iris Nixon was preceded in death by her father; her great-nephew, Tai'Son White; and her sisters-in-law, Sylvia and Pearl Nixon; and

WHEREAS, Iris Nixon is survived by her mother; her son, Tremain; her grandchildren, Isaiah and Iyonna Nixon; her sister, Cynthia (Louis) Wilkins; her brother, Louis (Delores) Nixon; her nieces, Tai-Amber White, Lakesha and Alexandria Nixon; her nephews, Gerald, Demontaye, Trellis, Cedrick, Benjamin, and Michael Nixon; and her favorite great-niece, Phoenix White; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Iris Mamie Nixon, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Iris Nixon as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
