SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Richard Leo Spence of Moline, who passed away on July 18, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Richard Spence was born in Aledo to Ralph and Gladys Brock Spence on June 16, 1930; he served in the United States Army during the Korean War and married Patricia A. Hughes in Fairfield, Iowa on September 14, 1956; and

WHEREAS, Richard Spence was employed for 20 years as a maintenance man with Montgomery Ward; and

WHEREAS, Richard Spence was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Pamela Spence; five brothers; his sons-in-law, Donald Adams and Dennis Edmonds; and his great-great-grandson, Maverick Clearman Warner; and

WHEREAS, Richard Spence is survived by his wife, Patricia; his daughters, Debra Spence, Elizabeth Dove, Sandra Septer, and Rosie Adams; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Richard Leo Spence, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Richard Spence as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
