SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Joseph Nugara, who passed away on July 23, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Nugara was born in Chicago to Charles and Palma (DiLiberto) on November 12, 1917; he served in the United States Army during World War II in Normandy, the Rhineland, Central Europe, Africa, and the Middle East; he earned three Bronze Battle Stars and an Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Nugara was the honorary chairman of VillageProfile.com, Inc.; he authored a book of poems: Black and White and Living Color, One Generation To Another; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Nugara loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Nugara was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 64 years, Mary V. (Losurdo); and his siblings, James, Sam, Ann, Claudia, Mary, Rose, and Josephine; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Nugara is survived by his children, Joseph C. Sr. (Maryann) Nugara and Daniel M. (Joan) Nugara; his grandchildren, April (Martin) Alvarado, Joseph C. Jr., Stefanie, Michael (Tricia), and Robert Nugara; his great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Alex, Antonio, Sofia, Danielle, Sara, and Justin; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Joseph Nugara, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Joseph Nugara as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
