SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ronald E. "Bud" Stull, who passed away on April 16, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Ronald Stull was born in Wood River to Ivan E. and Thelma N. (Green) Stull on December 19, 1935; he married Darlene Smith in Alton on May 27, 1955; and

WHEREAS, Ronald Stull was the owner and operator of Stull's Body Shop with Darlene from 1960 to 2001; he was the youngest business owner in the Independent Garage Owners Association; and

WHEREAS, Ronald Stull was the first in the area to build dune buggies; he enjoyed restoring cars, and one of his favorite projects was converting a Ford van into a motor home and taking it up the East Coast with his family when his children were young; he won many first place trophies and two of his trucks were featured in Truckin' Magazine; and

WHEREAS, Ronald Stull was a talented oil painter and won a first place blue ribbon at an art show in Carlinville; he was a skilled archer and enjoyed bow hunting; he had a love of animals and was willing to take in any dog at any time; he enjoyed arguing politics and tinkering in his garage; and

WHEREAS, Ronald Stull was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Sonny Stull; his infant daughter, Melissa Lynn; his granddaughter, Bethany Leigh Stull; and his infant great-grandchild, Morgan; and

WHEREAS, Ronald Stull is survived by his wife, Darlene; his daughters, Vickie (Bill) Rodgers, Tracy (David) Steward, and Crystal (Mike) East; his sons, Kent (Mona) and Sawyer Stull; his sister, Janith Griffin; his grandchildren, Kraig (Michelle) Rodgers, Kaci (Mark) Beatty, Travis (Kristin) Steward, Katie (Eric) Wigton, Brandon (Amanda) Stull, Matthew (Miranda) Stull, Rose Bryant, and Jasper Stull; and his great-grandchildren, Avery, Caroline, Alohalee, Cole, William, Sam, Brooklyn, and Emberlyn; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Ronald E. "Bud" Stull, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ronald Stull as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
