SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jane Frances Roewer of Wonder Lake, who passed away on January 11, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Jane Roewer was born to Robert and Frances (Rocak) Danilovich on October 19, 1927 and grew up in Cicero; she graduated from Morton High School in Cicero; and

WHEREAS, Jane Roewer began working for the Veterans Administration hospital in Heinz as a medical stenographer in a neuro-psychiatric ward in the tuberculosis department; her family moved to Crystal Lake, where she married Erdman (Bud) Roewer on May 21, 1949 and they settled in McHenry; and

WHEREAS, Jane Roewer worked a part time job as a mail carrier for the United States Post Office; she held several other jobs, including a Stanley Home Products dealer, an office worker at Sun Electric, and with the Board of Transportation for school districts 15 and 115; and

WHEREAS, Jane Roewer was a Cub Scout Den Mother and an election judge; she enjoyed swimming, camping, cards, crosswords, solitaire, cooking, reading, gardening, and garage sales; she was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bears fan; she was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church; she was an animal lover and enjoyed taking her dog for a walk in the woods; and

WHEREAS, Jane Roewer was preceded in death by her husband, Bud; her siblings, Rose and Sophie; and her parents; and

WHEREAS, Jane Roewer is survived by her children, Terri Lavin, Sherri (Mitch) Rittorno, Karen (Daniel) Meier, Robin (Jim) Fulton, and Robert (Kelly) Roewer; her grandchildren, K.J., Robby, and Jesse Lavin, Amy La Tessa (Dave Wright), Mike La Tessa (Christina Russo), and Patrick and Evan Roewer; her great-grandchildren, Collin, Ashleigh, Danica, Madison (Russo), Liam, and Eva; and many nieces and nephews, including Ed (Kay) Lutz; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jane Frances Roewer, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jane Roewer as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
