SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Richard David Fox of Bloomington, who passed away on December 21, 2017; and

WHEREAS, David Fox was born in Bloomington to Richard Charles and Betty Virginia Arnold Fox on August 30, 1942; he graduated from Trinity High School in 1960 and joined the Illinois National Guard, serving from 1960 to 1964; he married Carol Lynn Keeran at St. Mary's Parish in Bloomington on May 11, 1963; and

WHEREAS, David Fox joined the Bloomington Fire Department in 1970, where he served for 24 years before his retirement; during that time, he became a barber and cut hair in the Griesheim Building; he also worked for State Farm Insurance in administrative services on his days off from the fire department; and

WHEREAS, David Fox was a longtime member of Bloomington Knights of Columbus Council 574 and the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bloomington; his greatest loves were his wife, his children, and his grandchildren and he was devoted to all of them, supporting them in so many ways; and

WHEREAS, David Fox was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, David Fox is survived by his wife, Carol Lynn; his children, Col. Richard David (Kim) Fox and Nancy Ann (Rob) Bryant; his grandchildren, Caroline Linville Fox, Jonathon Graham Fox, Griffin Prescott Fox, Grace McKinney Bryant, Robert Fatherson Bryant Jr., and William Fox Bryant; and his brother, Dennis P. Fox D.D.S.; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Richard David Fox, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of David Fox as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
