SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Joan Iva Willaredt of Edwardsville, who
4passed away on October 13, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Joan Willaredt was born in her family home near
6St. Jacob to Oliver and Mayme (Liebler) Thurnau on November 10,
71932; she graduated from Highland High School in 1950 and
8married George Willaredt at St. John E & R Church in Granite
9City on November 12, 1955; and
 
10    WHEREAS, After living on a farm in Granite City for the
11first four years of their marriage, Joan Willaredt and her
12husband moved to the Edwardsville area, where they operated a
13vegetable, grain, and horseradish farm; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Joan Willaredt was an active member of Eden
15Church; she bowled in leagues and was involved in the Farm
16Bureau Women's Committee; she enjoyed traveling across the
17United States and abroad, visiting with family and friends, and
18playing cards; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Joan Willaredt was preceded in death by her
20siblings, Harold (Laurine) Thurnau, Lyla (Dale) Gerstenecker,
21Jeanette (Louis) Taylor, and Cliff Thurnau; and her brothers-

1and sisters-in-law, Delmar Nungesser, Henry Pirok, Betty
2Thurnau, Alvin (LaVerne) Willaredt, Harley Willaredt, and Bill
3Keller; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Joan Willaredt is survived by her husband, George;
5her daughters, Pam (Fred) Heepke, Nancy (Jerry) Kruckeberg, and
6Jill (Kerry) Bertels; her grandchildren and
7great-grandchildren, Jeff (Marcy) Heepke and children, Grace
8and Emma, Dennis (Molly) Heepke and children, Lucy and Henry,
9Ross Heepke, Brad Kruckeberg, Tim (Gracie) Kruckeberg, Eric
10(Nichole) Bertels and children, Samantha, Stephanie, and
11Sophia, Kurt (Karen) Bertels and son, Brennan, and Mark
12Bertels; her sisters, Olive Nungesser and Eleanor Pirok; her
13brothers, Warren Thurnau and Robert (Dorothy) Thurnau; and her
14sisters-in-law, Betty Thurnau, Wilma Willaredt, Doris Keller,
15and Darlene (Joe) Schroeder; therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
18Joan Iva Willaredt, and extend our sincere condolences to her
19family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
20further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22presented to the family of Joan Willaredt as an expression of
23our deepest sympathy.
