HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to recognize the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Ogle County Farm Bureau; and

WHEREAS, In 1917, a group of farmers in Ogle County met in Oregon to begin the formation of a new organization to represent agriculture in Ogle County; their vision was to create a membership organization to educate farmers on new production techniques, improve soil health, create better access to crop and livestock products, and improve profitability on farms across the county; and

WHEREAS, To this day, the values, vision, and mission of the Ogle County Farm Bureau remain unchanged; it provides leadership to its 4,600 members in the areas that affect their lives, their farms, and their livelihoods; and

WHEREAS, The Ogle County Farm Bureau represents its member's interests with integrity and respect, holding itself to a high standard of excellence; and

WHEREAS, The Ogle County Farm Bureau is constructed upon faith, patriotism, stewardship, respect, and individual responsibility; and

WHEREAS, The Ogle County Farm Bureau has become recognized as the voice of agriculture in Ogle County; its members are represented by the organization at the county, State and national level for the purpose of leading them in their pursuit of prosperity; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Ogle County Farm Bureau, and we wish it many more years of success; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Ogle County Farm Bureau as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
