SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Annie Lee Ware, who passed away on January 18, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Annie Ware was born in Lovejoy on April 24, 1922 to Isom and Mollie McCoy; she attended Lovejoy School and was a member of Union Baptist Church; she married Hardy Ware, Sr. on July 24, 1943; and

WHEREAS, Annie Ware was active with the parent-teachers association, the neighborhood watch, and the Belles Club; and

WHEREAS, In 1966, Annie Ware and her family relocated to East St. Louis; she joined Southern Mission Missionary Baptist Church in 1974; she volunteered for the elementary school lunch program, the neighborhood watch, the Salvation Army Women's League, the women's ministry, and Church Women United, and she was a member of the Grand Court Order of Calanthe; and

WHEREAS, Annie Ware is survived by her 6 children, Hardy Ware, Jr., Harriette Ware, Marvin Ware (Angela), Anthony Ware (Charyl), Regina Day (Donald), and Nathan Ware (Regina); her sister, Audrey Rivers; her 11 grandchildren; her 5 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Annie Lee Ware, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Annie Ware as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
