SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Richard "Dick" D. Forney of Silvis, who passed away on September 21, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Richard Forney was born on March 12, 1929 in Batavia, Iowa; his parents were Carroll and Roberta Forney; he married B. Marie Kelsey on June 13, 1950 in Iowa; and

WHEREAS, Richard Forney served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was discharged in 1953; and

WHEREAS, Richard Forney was a member of the Teamsters and drove a truck for various companies throughout his career; and

WHEREAS, Richard Forney was an early member of the Riverdale Booster Club; and

WHEREAS, Richard Forney enjoyed fishing, gardening, and woodworking; and

WHEREAS, Richard Forney was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Roberta Taylor, Betty Sanders, Margaret Gillen, Lorraine Forney, and Robert Forney; and

WHEREAS, Richard Forney is survived by his wife, B. Marie Forney; his children, Richard Dean (Kay) Forney and Cheryl (Steve) Reader; his grandchildren, Shawn and Shannon Forney and Chad and Dawn Reader; and his brother, Jack (Helen) Forney; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Richard "Dick" D. Forney; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Richard Forney as an expression of our sympathy.
