SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Julie Ann Knight of Granite City, who passed away on October 29, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Julie Knight was born to James Lewis Sr. and JoAnn Thornton in Granite City on May 27, 1971; she married Craig S. Knight at The Chapel of Flowers in Las Vegas in 2001; and

WHEREAS, Julie Knight was an office coordinator at Premier Dental in St. Louis, where she provided 20 years of dedicated service; and

WHEREAS, Julie Knight served as an advocate for cancer patients and survivors over the past several years, working with service dogs to bring comfort to children at St. Louis Children's Hospital; and

WHEREAS, Julie Knight was a member of Calvary Life Church in Granite City; on occasion, she coached her children's sports teams; she enjoyed going on family vacations, decorating, and shopping; and

WHEREAS, Julie Knight was devoted to her children and had a special love for all children, always looking to give love to others in any way possible; and

WHEREAS, Julie Knight was preceded in death by her parents; and

WHEREAS, Julie Knight is survived by her husband; her son, Chase Knight; her daughter, Abby Knight; her siblings, Jim Lewis, Steve Lewis, Carmon Lewis, and Dawn Berry; her special nephews, Cory and Dylan Lewis; her parents-in-law, Don and Jane Knight; her brother-in-law, Rick (Sheila) Knight; her sisters-in-law, Tammy (Tom) Roberts and Robin (Aaron) Flynn; her nieces and nephews; her other extended family; and her many cherished friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Julie Ann Knight and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Julie Knight as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
