SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Josephine Comfort of Peoria, who passed away on May 5, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Josephine Comfort was born in Dale, North Dakota; she was the daughter of George and Anna (Williams) Abraham; she married James D. Comfort on April 14, 1952, in Peoria; and

WHEREAS, Josephine Comfort and her husband were the former owners of Jim's Steak House in Peoria until retiring in 1987; and

WHEREAS, Josephine Comfort was a former member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and the church's Mothers Club; and

WHEREAS, Josephine Comfort was preceded in death by her husband; her 4 brothers; and her 4 sisters; and

WHEREAS, Josephine Comfort is survived by her daughter, Mary (Howard) Thomas; her sons, James (Julie) Comfort II, Timothy G. Comfort, and Gregory J. Comfort; her grandchildren, Jim, Drake, Caitlin, and Dominic Comfort, Deanna Venzon, Kristen, and Nick Comfort, and Vice, Elise, and Mary Thomas; and her great-grandchildren, Maddie, Reid, and Lydia Venzon; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Josephine Comfort; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Josephine Comfort as an expression of our sympathy.
