1    AN ACT concerning regulation.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Electrologist Licensing Act is amended by
5changing Section 33 as follows:
 
6    (225 ILCS 412/33)
7    (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2014)
8    Sec. 33. Grandfather provision.
9    (a) For a period of 12 months after the filing of the
10original administrative rules adopted under this Act, the
11Department may issue a license to any individual who, in
12addition to meeting the requirements set forth in paragraphs
13(1), (2), (3), and (4) of Section 30, can document employment
14as an electrologist and has received remuneration for
15practicing electrology for a period of 3 years and can show
16proof of one of the following: (i) current board certification
17by a national electrology certifying body approved by the
18Department; or (ii) completion of 30 continuing education units
19in electrology approved by the Department.
20    (b) The Department may issue a license to an individual who
21failed to apply for licensure under subsection (a) of this
22Section on or before February 22, 2006 (one year after the
23effective date of the rules adopted under this Act), but who

1otherwise meets the qualifications set forth in subsection (a)
2of this Section, provided that the individual submits a
3completed application for licensure as required within 90 days
4after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 96th
5General Assembly.
6    (c) The Department may issue a license to an individual who
7failed to apply for licensure under subsection (a) of this
8Section on or before February 22, 2006 (one year after the
9effective date of the rules adopted under this Act), but who
10otherwise meets the qualifications set forth in subsection (a)
11of this Section, provided that the individual submits a
12completed application for licensure as required within 5
13business days after the effective date of this amendatory Act
14of the 97th General Assembly.

16    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
17becoming law.
