SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
230 ILCS 40/27

    Amends the Video Gaming Act. Provides that an ordinance passed by a municipality or county board prohibiting video gaming may not prohibit video gaming by licensed fraternal establishments or licensed veteran establishments. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning gaming.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Video Gaming Act is amended by changing
5Section 27 as follows:
 
6    (230 ILCS 40/27)
7    Sec. 27. Prohibition of video gaming by political
8subdivision. A municipality may pass an ordinance prohibiting
9video gaming within the corporate limits of the municipality. A
10county board may, for the unincorporated area of the county,
11pass an ordinance prohibiting video gaming within the
12unincorporated area of the county.
13    An ordinance prohibiting video gaming passed under the
14authorization of this Section may not prohibit video gaming by
15licensed fraternal establishments or licensed veteran
16establishments.

18    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
19becoming law.
