| SENATE RESOLUTION
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 |
| learn of the death of Consorica V. Irizari, who passed away on | 4 |
| April 10, 2010; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, She was born on June 22, 1931 in the Philippines; | 6 |
| she immigrated to Chicago in 1976, along with her children and | 7 |
| her husband; she was a devout Catholic and strong in her faith; | 8 |
| and
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, She sacrificed a life of comfort in the | 10 |
| Philippines for the chance at a better future for her children; | 11 |
| and
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, She was educated in the Philippines and graduated | 13 |
| from college summa cum laude; and
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, During World War II, she witnessed the Japanese | 15 |
| occupation of the Philippines and was the Japanese interpreter | 16 |
| for her family; and
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Consorica Irizari is survived by her siblings, | 18 |
| Lieutenant Colonel Nestor Venturina and Ine Venturina Cruz; her | 19 |
| husband, Benedicto Irizari; her children, Alexis (Vicki | 20 |
| Filomeno) Irizari, Annie (Aaron) Muller, and Angie (Edwin) |

| Policarpio; and her grandchildren, Melanie (Keith) Rocero, | 2 |
| Valerie Irizari, Haley Muller, and Alyssa and Brianna | 3 |
| Policarpio; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | 5 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 6 |
| her family and friends, the passing of Consorica Irizari; and | 7 |
| be it further
| 8 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 9 |
| presented to the family of Consorica V. Irizari as a symbol of | 10 |
| our sincere sympathy.
