| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Richard Paul "Dick" Hewitt of East | 4 | | Moline, who passed away on January 10, 2020; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, RICHARD HEWITT was born in Moline to R. Terry and | 6 | | Cora (Lievens) Hewitt on November 29, 1934; he attended St. | 7 | | Anne Grade School and graduated from Alleman High School, Class | 8 | | of 1952; he was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church; he served | 9 | | in the US Army; he married Chloe Kraft in 1964; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Richard Hewitt and his wife Chloe owned Richard | 11 | | Hewitt Carpets; he was a carpet installer for 65 years and had | 12 | | still not retired at the time of his passing; he truly enjoyed | 13 | | his work and his customers; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Richard Hewitt was an avid Alleman High School and | 15 | | Chicago Cubs sports fan, attending as many games as he could; | 16 | | he loved traveling with Chloe, especially to their beloved | 17 | | Ixtapa, Mexico to spend part of the winter; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Richard Hewitt was preceded in death by his | 19 | | parents, aunts, and uncles; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Richard Hewitt is survived by his wife, Chloe; his |

| 1 | | daughter, Candace (David) Sountris; his grandsons, Jared and | 2 | | Ethan Sountris; his sisters, Mary Jo Kline and Mydge (Duane) | 3 | | Krob; his aunt, Mary Young; and many nieces, nephews, and | 4 | | cousins; therefore, be it
| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 6 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 7 | | Richard Paul "Dick" Hewitt and extend our sincere condolences | 8 | | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | 9 | | it further
| 10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 | | presented to the family of Richard Hewitt as an expression of | 12 | | our deepest sympathy.
