| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Evan C. | 4 | | Melau, who passed away on June 19, 2020; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Evan Melau lived every day and approached every | 6 | | challenge with 125% effort; his strong will and determination | 7 | | to succeed led to many admirable accomplishments in his young | 8 | | life; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Evan Melau recognized the importance of a good | 10 | | education at a young age; his parents taught him to always do | 11 | | his best, and his dedication to his schoolwork and studies | 12 | | resulted in him being named as an honor roll student; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Evan Melau will always be remembered for his | 14 | | smiling face, his laugh, and the kindness he showed to | 15 | | everyone; he excelled in his athletic endeavors with | 16 | | basketball, football, and especially baseball, where his "no | 17 | | fear" attitude at second base was admired by his coaches and | 18 | | teammates; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Evan Melau was preceded in death by his | 20 | | grandmother, Debra Paul; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Evan Melau is survived by his parents, Chuck and | 2 | | Jamie Melau Jr.; his brother, Jacob Melau; his sister, Zoe | 3 | | Melau; his grandparents, Michael Paul and Chuck and Kathleen | 4 | | Melau Sr.; and his uncles, Jon Paul and Jeremy (Jackie) Paul; | 5 | | therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 7 | | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 8 | | we mourn the passing of Evan C. Melau and extend our sincere | 9 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 10 | | him; and be it further
| 11 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 12 | | presented to the family of Evan Melau as an expression of our | 13 | | deepest sympathy.
