HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Gary Resh on receiving
4the 2024 First Citizen Award from The Danville Chapter of
5AMBUCS; and
 
6    WHEREAS, The Danville Chapter of AMBUCS has presented the
7First Citizen's Award to a member of the Danville Community to
8honor their volunteer service every year since 1932; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Gary Resh is the owner of Resh Frame Shop, where
10he creates beautifully crafted custom framing and woodcarving;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, Gary Resh currently serves on the board of the
13DACC Foundation and as a volunteer hanging and framing items
14and exhibits for the Vermilion County War Museum; he is a past
15board member of the United Samaritans Medical Center
16Foundation, the Danville Public Library Foundation, where he
17served as president for three years, OSF, formerly known as
18Presence Medical Center, the Danville Art League, the Danville
19Symphony, the Danville Symphony Guild, the Red Mask Players,
20the Danville Area Arts Council, the Bi-Centennial Committee,
21and Arts in the Park, Inc.; and

1    WHEREAS, Gary Resh served as the co-chair of the annual
2Festival of Trees event for eight years, and he continues to be
3an active member, tree designer, and in charge of signage for
4the festival; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gary Resh and his wife, Doris Resh, established a
6scholarship at Danville Area Community College for students
7studying business; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Gary Resh has donated over 30 personally
9crocheted blankets to the OSF Bobbette Steely Hegeler Cancer
10Care Center for patients undergoing chemotherapy; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Gary Resh's selfless, compassionate, generous,
12thoughtful, and genuine nature exemplifies what it means to be
13a First Citizen by choosing to make a positive impact within
14the Danville community; therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
16HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
17we wish to congratulate Gary Resh on receiving the 2024 First
18Citizen Award from The Danville Chapter of AMBUCS; and be it
19further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to Gary Resh as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
