HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the Jacksonville Middle School 8th grade boys track team, the Crimsons, on their accomplishments at the 2024 Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) Class 4A 8th Grade Boys State Track and Field Meet; and

WHEREAS, The Crimsons 8th grade boys track team finished first in the 4x100m relay with a time of 45.74 seconds, a Jacksonville Middle School record; and

WHEREAS, The Crimsons 8th grade boys track team also placed second in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3 minutes and 40.07 seconds; and

WHEREAS, The Crimsons 8th grade boys track team had several achievements in individual events as well, including Darren Henry and Wyatt Moore placing first and second in the high jump event, respectively, Darren Henry placing second in long jump, and Jeremiah Jackson placing second in the 110m hurdles; and

WHEREAS, The Crimsons 8th grade boys track team includes Jason Brown, Calvin Gause, Riley Hagar, Darren Henry, Jeremiah Jackson, Brock Meyer, Wyatt Moore, Ryan Reese, and Carvell Stephens; and

WHEREAS, The Crimsons 8th grade boys track team is led by Coach Leon Clinton; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Jacksonville Middle School 8th grade boys track team, the Crimsons, on their accomplishments at the 2024 Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) Class 4A 8th Grade Boys State Track and Field Meet, and we wish them continued success in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Jacksonville Middle School 8th grade boys track team as an expression of our esteem and respect.
