| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to | 3 | | recognize the life of Richard Wayne Miller of Illinois City, | 4 | | who passed away on February 23, 2005; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Richard Miller was born in Millersburg to Charles | 6 | | and Josephine Hall Miller on June 8, 1934; he served in the | 7 | | United States Navy during the Korean War and married Joan | 8 | | Armetta in Chicago on May 10, 1958; he married Joy Gill Varner | 9 | | in Rock Island on January 2, 1998; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Richard Miller worked as a truck driver for Moline | 11 | | Consumers for 33 years; he retired in June of 1994; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Richard Miller was known to many by his C.B. | 13 | | handle of "Bulldog"; he attended 15th Avenue Christian Church | 14 | | in Rock Island and was a member of American Legion Post 246 | 15 | | Moline; he loved his old Massy Ferguson tractor and his pets, | 16 | | including six cats and his special buddy, his border collie, | 17 | | Sheba; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Richard Miller was preceded in death by his first | 19 | | wife, Joan; his granddaughter, Mindy Miller; his stepson, Gary | 20 | | Varner; his sister, Louise Young; and his brothers, Floyd, | 21 | | Robert, and Carl Miller; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, At the time of his passing, Richard Miller was | 2 | | survived by his wife, Joy; his daughters, Debra, Dr. Pamela, | 3 | | and Dr. Patricia Miller; his son, Earl (Missy) Miller; his | 4 | | stepchildren, David Varner, Connie (Kevin) Guthrie, and Sondra | 5 | | Westmoreland; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; | 6 | | seven step-great-grandchildren; his sisters, Dorothy Green and | 7 | | Stella Finchman; and his brother, Charles Miller; therefore, be | 8 | | it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | Richard Wayne Miller, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 12 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 13 | | further
