| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Tom D. Morss of Peoria, who passed away | 4 | | on July 8, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Tom Morss was born in Galesburg on March 17, 1947 | 6 | | to Leaon and Elaine (nee Donaldson) Morss; he married Jessie | 7 | | Russo on May 27, 1967 in Abingdon; he served in the United | 8 | | States Army from 1966 to 1969, including a 10-month tour in | 9 | | Thailand, where he worked in satellite communications; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Tom Morss owned a transportation company, Traffic | 11 | | Tom, Inc., where he created an environment that was about | 12 | | serving the customer and providing quality jobs; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Tom Morss was a longtime parishioner of Holy | 14 | | Family and also loved serving the Cursillo community; he and | 15 | | his wife, Jessie, made Cursillo in 1984; in September of 2013, | 16 | | he served as the rector of Cursillo 1045, choosing the theme of | 17 | | "We Will Rise Again"; he was a talented musician, serving as a | 18 | | drum major in high school, playing trombone professionally as a | 19 | | young man, and singing with various church choirs, including | 20 | | the contemporary choir for more than a decade at Holy Family; | 21 | | and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Tom Morss loved attending his grandchildren's | 2 | | ball games, concerts, and recitals; in June of 2015, he was the | 3 | | survivor honoree at the Bartonville Relay for Life; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Tom Morss was preceded in death by his parents; | 5 | | his sister, Connie Morss; and his father and mother-in-law, | 6 | | Dominick and Glenessa Russo; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Tom Morss is survived by his wife, Jessie; his | 8 | | daughter, Gina (Bill) Morss-Fischer; his grandchildren Noah, | 9 | | Kylie, Vanessa, and Maya Fischer; his aunt, Leona Runyon; and | 10 | | numerous cousins, extended family, and friends; therefore, be | 11 | | it
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 14 | | Tom D. Morss, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, | 15 | | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
