| SENATE RESOLUTION
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, Robert Fink of Batavia died September 17, 2004; | 3 |
| born January 19, 1992 in Geneva to Thomas and Mary (Kemp) Fink, | 4 |
| he was only 12, but his life touched scores of people; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, He began preschool at the Union Congregational | 6 |
| Preschool in North Aurora, attended H.C. Storm Elementary | 7 |
| School in Batavia, and was a 7th grade student at Rotolo Middle | 8 |
| School in Batavia; and
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, He was a faithful member of Batavia United | 10 |
| Methodist Church and seldom missed a Sunday; he loved music and | 11 |
| enjoyed singing in the choir, both at church and at school; he | 12 |
| played trombone in the school band and taught himself to play | 13 |
| the piano and harmonica; Robert also was a member of Batavia | 14 |
| Cub Scout Pack 139, where he proudly earned the Order of the | 15 |
| Arrow and crossed over to Boy Scout Troop 43; and
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, Robert was a boy with ambitious goals; he wanted | 17 |
| to become an Eagle Scout, to play trombone in the Notre Dame | 18 |
| marching band, and to become an architect; although he never | 19 |
| had the chance to achieve all that he dreamed, he achieved far | 20 |
| more than he ever could have imagined; and
| 21 |
| WHEREAS, Helpful, friendly, courteous and kind, Robert | 22 |
| personified the Scouting code he knew by heart; even greater | 23 |
| was his quiet faith; he lived life and fought death with a | 24 |
| trust and assurance that left family and friends moved and | 25 |
| amazed; he leaves behind a legacy of everyday memories, | 26 |
| including a thousand "magic moments" that will be remembered | 27 |
| forever by people Robert never knew he touched, but whose lives | 28 |
| will never be the same; and
| 29 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his maternal | 30 |
| grandfather, Joseph Kemp, and his great-grandparents; and

| WHEREAS, The passing of Robert Fink will be felt by all who | 2 |
| knew and loved him, especially his parents, Thomas and Mary | 3 |
| Fink; his sister, Catherine; his paternal grandparents, Allen | 4 |
| (Elizabeth) Fink and Margaret Jane Fink; his maternal | 5 |
| grandmother, Ruth Kemp; several aunts and uncles and their | 6 |
| families, Sue (Michael) Guillemette and their son Joseph; | 7 |
| Douglas (Mary) Fink and their family, Jen, Joe and Kate; | 8 |
| Patrick (Keiko) Fink and their daughter, Mitsi; Kenneth Fink; | 9 |
| Edwina (Mike) DelGuidice and their sons, Allen and Max; several | 10 |
| great-aunts and great-uncles; and his favorite babysitters, | 11 |
| Carol Kuphal and family; therefore, be it
| 12 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL | 13 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that together with his | 14 |
| family and friends, we mourn the passing of Robert Fink and we | 15 |
| extend to his family and friends our sincerest condolences; and | 16 |
| be it further
| 17 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 18 |
| presented to the family of Robert Fink as an expression of our | 19 |
| deepest sympathy.
