| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Jacquelyne D. "Jacky" | 4 | | Grimshaw on receiving the 2022 Sharon D. Banks Award for | 5 | | Humanitarian Leadership in Transportation; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, The Sharon D. Banks Award is an honor presented | 7 | | by the Transportation Research Board that recognizes | 8 | | individuals whose accomplishments exemplify
a caring nature | 9 | | and depth of character by making a significant difference in
| 10 | | the lives of those who use, deliver, or support transportation | 11 | | services; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Jacky Grimshaw joined the Center for Neighborhood | 13 | | Technology (CNT) as its vice president of policy, | 14 | | transportation, and community development in 1992; she has | 15 | | developed its capacity to engage in public policy advocacy and | 16 | | transportation planning, transportation research, | 17 | | environmental justice, public participation tool development, | 18 | | GIS mapping, community economic development, and air quality; | 19 | | she advocates for and provides expertise to increase transit | 20 | | in the Chicago region; she has previously created and led | 21 | | CNT's transportation and air quality programs and led CNT's | 22 | | Transit Future campaign in the fight for mass transit reform | 23 | | and dedicated funding in the Chicago region; she has led CNT's |

| 1 | | policy efforts at all levels of government since 2005; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Prior to joining CNT, Jacky Grimshaw spent time | 3 | | as a researcher in hematology and gastroenterology, worked in | 4 | | the Chicago Public School district, and served in both state | 5 | | and federal government, including as political advisor for the | 6 | | late Mayor Harold Washington and as director of the Mayor's | 7 | | Office of Intergovernmental Affairs and then as deputy city | 8 | | treasurer for economic development; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Jacky Grimshaw was born in Macon, Georgia; she | 10 | | graduated from Loretto Academy Catholic High School in Chicago | 11 | | in 1960; she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from | 12 | | Marquette University in 1965, an education certificate from | 13 | | Chicago Teachers College in 1967, and completed the Master of | 14 | | Arts in Public Policy requirements at Governors State | 15 | | University; she married William J. Grimshaw in 1964, and they | 16 | | have two children; therefore, be it
| 17 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 18 | | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 19 | | we congratulate Jacquelyne D.
