| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Richard E. "Dick" Donlin of Rock Island, | 4 | | who passed away on July 31, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dick Donlin was born in Rock Island to Eva and | 6 | | Edgar Donlin on July 19, 1931; he graduated from Rock Island | 7 | | High School in 1949; he served in the United States Navy aboard | 8 | | the attack carrier U.S.S. Leyte CVA-32 during the Korean | 9 | | Conflict; he married Dorothy Jean Cherry on March 9, 1953; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Dick Donlin retired from the former Iowa Illinois | 11 | | Gas and Electric Company after 38 years of service; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Dick Donlin was a lifelong member of the 15th | 13 | | Avenue Christian Church in Rock Island; he enjoyed yard work, | 14 | | gardening, traveling, wintering in Florida, and spending time | 15 | | with his family, friends, and fellow workers; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Dick Donlin was preceded in death by his wife, | 17 | | Dorothy; his parents; and 12 brothers and sisters; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Dick Donlin is survived by his friend and | 19 | | companion, Joy Miller; his daughters, Mary Luann Browning and | 20 | | Linda (Frank) Warren; his grandchildren, Matthew Browning, |
