| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Thomas J. King of Harvard, who passed | 4 | | away on May 7, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Thomas King was born in Harvard on May 22, 1923 to | 6 | | Thomas and Mary (nee Gleason) King; he attended the King School | 7 | | and graduated from Harvard High School; he married Nitchie | 8 | | Ricci in Rockford on February 14, 1953; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Thomas King was the last farmer of the King family | 10 | | who, for the previous 155 years, have farmed on King Road; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Thomas King was a member of St. Joseph Church, a | 12 | | past President and Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, a | 13 | | founding board member of the Greater Harvard Historical | 14 | | Society, a past President of the Harvard Lions Club, a Melvin | 15 | | Jones Fellow of the Lions Clubs International Foundation, a | 16 | | member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and the Harvard Grange, | 17 | | a Hartland Township Auditor, a Pure Milk Association Delegate, | 18 | | and a volunteer fireman; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Thomas King was preceded in death by his wife, | 20 | | Nitchie; his parents; his brother, Frank King; and his sisters, | 21 | | Roseanne (Walter) Schultz and Irene (John) Brennan; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Thomas King is survived by his daughters, Toni | 2 | | King and Patricia (Daniel) McGrath; his grandchildren, | 3 | | Meredith and Margaux; his special friend, Velma Shriver; his | 4 | | brother, Roger King; and his sister-in-law, Eileen King; there | 5 | | was a special place in his heart for all his nieces and | 6 | | nephews; therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 9 | | Thomas J. King, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 10 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 11 | | further
| 12 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 13 | | presented to the family of Thomas King as an expression of our | 14 | | deepest sympathy.
