| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Naomi Grace Tarvin of Bloomington, who | 4 | | passed away on June 9, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Naomi Tarvin was born in Shirley to John G. and | 6 | | Bertha F. Maupin Muffley on April 8, 1925; she married Richard | 7 | | H. Tarvin in Shirley on August 18, 1945; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Naomi Tarvin worked for Illinois Soldiers' and | 9 | | Sailors' Children's School until it closed; she later worked | 10 | | for the Department of Public Aid for many years; she retired | 11 | | from the State of Illinois; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Naomi Tarvin was a longtime member of the Shirley | 13 | | Christian Church, where she enjoyed singing and helping with | 14 | | vacation bible school; in her free time, she loved ceramics, | 15 | | oil painting, and crocheting; for many years, she and her | 16 | | husband wintered in Florida; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Naomi Tarvin was preceded in death by her husband, | 18 | | Richard; her sisters, Lorraine Muffley and Madelyn Hammers; and | 19 | | her brothers, Oscar, Lester, and John Muffley; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Naomi Tarvin is survived by her son, John (Sharon) |

| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 6 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 7 | | Naomi Grace Tarvin and extend our sincere condolences to her | 8 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 9 | | further
| 10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 | | presented to the family of Naomi Tarvin as an expression of our | 12 | | deepest sympathy.
