| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Richard Elbert Ford, who passed away on | 4 | | May 18, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Richard Ford was born in Creal Springs to William | 6 | | E. and Sylvia L. Ford on April 26, 1934; after attending | 7 | | Southern Illinois University, he moved to Elgin, where he | 8 | | continued his education; his first marriage resulted in the | 9 | | birth of his four children; in 1969, he married Jennifer | 10 | | Fraley; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Richard Ford began his career at the Elgin Mental | 12 | | Health Center, where he worked as an administrator for many | 13 | | years until his retirement; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Richard Ford enjoyed traveling, mostly road | 15 | | trips; his many adventures with family members resulted in | 16 | | everlasting memories; his last long road trip was a 5,400 mile | 17 | | trek that included Las Vegas, Southern California, Jackson | 18 | | Hole, Wyoming, and Yellowstone National Park; he enjoyed his | 19 | | many trips to Las Vegas and participating in events at the | 20 | | World Series of Poker; he was proud of his family and was a | 21 | | devoted husband, father, and grandfather; he will be remembered | 22 | | for his sense of humor; and

| 3 | | WHEREAS, Richard Ford is survived by his wife, Jennifer; | 4 | | his daughters, Pamela Sue (James) Tanner and Patricia Ann | 5 | | (Larry) Thiede; his sons, Michael Richard (Laura) Ford and | 6 | | Robert Alan (Debra) Ford; his grandchildren, Courtney Patricia | 7 | | Tanner, Taylor Sage Ford, and Sarah Ann Ford; his brother, | 8 | | Jerry (Carolyn) Ford; his nephew, Matthew Ford; his niece, | 9 | | Julie (Bert) Bruyn; and his grandnephews, Chase and Noah Bruyn; | 10 | | therefore, be it
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 13 | | Richard Elbert Ford and extend our sincere condolences to his | 14 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 15 | | further
