| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Edward J. Starshak of Waukegan, who | 4 | | passed away on March 24, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Edward Starshak was born on February 9, 1939 in | 6 | | Chicago; his parents were Everett and Beatrice Starshak; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Edward Starshak spent most of his childhood in | 8 | | Lombard, and graduated from Fenwick High School in 1956; he | 9 | | subsequently graduated with honors from St. Joseph's College in | 10 | | Rensselaer, Indiana in 1960 with a Bachelor of Arts in | 11 | | Mathematics and obtained a Master's Degree in Economics from | 12 | | Northwestern University in 1966; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Edward Starshak spent his life in the teaching | 14 | | profession; he was a professor of economics at the College of | 15 | | Lake County in Grayslake for 30 years until his retirement in | 16 | | 2000; and | 17 | | WHEREAS, Edward Starshak enjoyed Chicago sports, Gonzaga | 18 | | basketball, music, and reading novels; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Edward Starshak was preceded in death by his | 20 | | parents; his sister, Mary Ellen Adcock; his brother, Marty |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Edward Starshak is survived by his wife of 41 | 3 | | years, Maureen (nee Sullivan); his daughter, Kate Starshak | 4 | | (Eric Martin); his son, Chris Starshak (Kara Jakusz); his | 5 | | grandchildren, C.J. and Claire Starshak; his sister-in-law, | 6 | | Ann Margaret (Robert) Roemer; his nephews, John (Peggy) | 7 | | Starshak and Jerome Starshak; his nieces, Barbara Starshak and | 8 | | Megean Roemer; and his many cousins; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | 11 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Edward J. Starshak; | 12 | | and be it further
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of Edward Starshak as an expression of | 15 | | our sympathy.
