| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Anthony "Tony" Lesnak of Waukegan, who | 4 | | passed away on March 7, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Anthony Lesnak was born in North Chicago to John | 6 | | and Frances (Cepon) Lesnak on December 23, 1922; he attended | 7 | | Mother of God School; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Anthony Lesnak served in the United States Army | 9 | | during World War II and served in both the European and Pacific | 10 | | Theaters with the 342nd Infantry of the Blackhawks 86th | 11 | | Division; he enjoyed attending the reunions to touch base with | 12 | | all of his buddies from Company M; and | 13 | | WHEREAS, Anthony Lesnak was employed by U.S. Steel and | 14 | | retired after over 39 years of service; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Anthony Lesnak was a member of St. Joseph's KSJK | 16 | | #53, the American Legion, the VFW, and Knights of Columbus | 17 | | #731; he was the last man to be a member of the Hobby Lobby | 18 | | Social Club and was a charter member of the World War II | 19 | | Memorial in Washington, D.C.; he was a previous member of | 20 | | Mother of God Church, Immaculate Conception, and of St. Dismas | 21 | | Parish in Waukegan, where he was a member of the Men's Club; he |

| 1 | | enjoyed playing softball and golf; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Anthony Lesnak was preceded in death by his wife | 3 | | of 65 years, Anne (Jerina) Lesnak; his parents; his siblings, | 4 | | John (Helen) Lesnak, Frances (Frank) Drasler, Mary (Thomas) | 5 | | Twardy, Rose (Victor) Dietz, and Frank (Theresa) Lesnak; and | 6 | | his nephews, William Twardy, and Keith Nurnburg; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Anthony Lesnak is survived by his sons, Robert | 8 | | (Donna) and John (Terri) Lesnak; his grandsons, Brian (Kelli) | 9 | | and Kevin Lesnak (Saya Barkdoll); and his great-grandchildren, | 10 | | Taylor, Ty, Reese, and Ryan; therefore, be it
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 13 | | Anthony "Tony" Lesnak, and extend our sincere condolences to | 14 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 15 | | further
