| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 |
| learn of the death of Catherine M. Demuzio, mother-in-law of | 4 |
| State Senator Deanna Demuzio, who passed away on September 25, | 5 |
| 2007; and
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, She was born Sunday, Oct. 20, 1918, in Scotland, | 7 |
| the daughter of the late Thomas Murphy and the late Catherine | 8 |
| McKnight Murphy; and
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Catherine and the late Vincent Demuzio were | 10 |
| married on October 12, 1940, in Gillespie; he died on October | 11 |
| 13, 1991; and
| 12 |
| WHEREAS,
Mrs. Demuzio was a retired clerk for the Secretary | 13 |
| of State's office; she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW | 14 |
| Post 4547 of Gillespie, Ss. Simon & Jude Church of Gillespie, | 15 |
| Ss. Simon & Jude Altar Society, Happy Hearts, and the Gillespie | 16 |
| Senior Citizens; and
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Catherine Demuzio was preceded in death by her | 18 |
| parents; her husband; her son, state Senator Vince Demuzio; her | 19 |
| daughter, Jean Demuzio; her son-in-law, David Hasquin; her | 20 |
| brothers, James Murphy and Michael Murphy; and her sisters, | 21 |
| Margaret Guenzi and Mary Murphy; and

| WHEREAS, Catherine Demuzio is survived by her daughters, | 2 |
| Bernadette Hasquin, Marlene (husband, Michael) Demuzio Wsol, | 3 |
| Catherine (husband, Peter) Visintin, and Donna (husband, | 4 |
| James) Burke; her daughter-in-law, state Senator Deanna | 5 |
| Demuzio; her grandchildren, Bradley Demuzio, Stephanie Blair, | 6 |
| Victoria Bruhn, Vincent Hasquin, James Burke II, Tammy Kalker, | 7 |
| Nicole Burke, and Peter Visintin Jr.; and her twelve | 8 |
| great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
| 9 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL | 10 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 11 |
| her family and friends, the passing of Catherine M. Demuzio; | 12 |
| and be it further
| 13 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 |
| presented to the family of Catherine M. Demuzio as a symbol of | 15 |
| our deepest sympathy.
