| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Gary Robert VanOteghem of Moline, who | 4 | | passed away on April 1, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Gary VanOteghem was born in Moline to Robert | 6 | | Charles and Norma Mae McCartney VanOteghem on April 20, 1947; | 7 | | he graduated from Moline High School and attended Black Hawk | 8 | | College; he served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1967 to | 9 | | 1969; he married Linda McCoy in Moline on November 1, 1969; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Gary VanOteghem was employed as an assembler by | 11 | | John Deere Harvester Works for 32 years, retiring in 1996; | 12 | | after retiring, he worked for Zimmerman Honda and the Red Dog | 13 | | Run Golf Course; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Gary VanOteghem was a member of the East End Club; | 15 | | he was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bears; he loved | 16 | | spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren | 17 | | and enjoyed golfing, bowling, yard work, and music; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Gary VanOteghem was preceded in death by his son, | 19 | | Jeffrey VanOteghem; his parents; and his sister, Patricia | 20 | | VanOteghem; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Gary VanOteghem is survived by his wife, Linda; | 2 | | his sons, Steve and David VanOteghem; his grandchildren, | 3 | | Jessica, Kyle, and Gabrielle VanOteghem and Alyssa Nuno; his | 4 | | great-grandchildren, Lucy and Eden VanOteghem, Avery Byrne, | 5 | | and Norie Rahmatulla; and his best friend, Russ Reese; | 6 | | therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 9 | | Gary Robert VanOteghem and extend our sincere condolences to | 10 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 11 | | further
