| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Ana Lopez | 4 | | Velez of Aurora, who passed away on December 28, 2014; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ana Velez was born in Matehuala, San Luis Potosi, | 6 | | Mexico on January 22, 1910 to Lazaro Lopez and Prexedis | 7 | | Castillo; in 1928, she moved to San Marcos, Texas and married | 8 | | Miguel Velez; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Ana Velez and her husband had 12 children, | 10 | | Valdomero, Santiaga, Margarito, Angel, Esteban, Jose, | 11 | | Benancio, Eufracia "Chita", Santiaga, Pedro, Graciela "Maria", | 12 | | and Bernardina; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Ana Velez was affectionately known as "Mita"; she | 14 | | moved to Illinois in 1964 to care for her grandchildren and | 15 | | great-grandchildren; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Ana Velez is survived by her sons, Valdomero and | 17 | | Margarito; her daughters, Graciela "Maria" and Bernardina; her | 18 | | 40 grandchildren; her 106 great-grandchildren; her 66 | 19 | | great-great-grandchildren; and her | 20 | | great-great-great-grandchild; therefore, be it

| 1 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 2 | | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 3 | | mourn the passing of Ana Lopez Velez, and extend our sincere | 4 | | condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 5 | | her; and be it further
