| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Frederick Lee "Fred" Bradshaw of | 4 | | Griggsville, who passed away on March 21, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Fred Bradshaw was born in
Quincy to Thomas and | 6 | | Lois
Sweeting Bradshaw on April 6, 1936; he graduated from | 7 | | Griggsville High School in 1954 and served in the U.S. Army for | 8 | | three years; he attended Western Illinois
University and | 9 | | received a bachelor's degree in
agriculture; he married Carole | 10 | | Schulten in Hannibal, Missouri on July 9,
1969; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Fred Bradshaw was a farmer and an
agriculture | 12 | | advocate; he served on many boards over the
years, including | 13 | | Farm Credit Services of Western Illinois,
the Illinois Soybean | 14 | | Checkoff Board, the National Biodiesel
Board, the Council on | 15 | | Food and Agriculture Research (Treasurer), Two Rivers RC&D | 16 | | (Chairman), the Pike County Farm Bureau, the Griggsville Rural | 17 | | Fire
District (Treasurer), the Pike County Board, and the Orr | 18 | | Research
Center Corporation, where he helped facilitate the | 19 | | agreement between the
University of Illinois and John Wood | 20 | | Community College to
share resources; and | 21 | | WHEREAS, Fred Bradshaw received many awards for his work in
| 22 | | agriculture, including the Award of Merit for Distinguished

| 1 | | Service to Agriculture presented by the Gamma Sigma Delta
Honor | 2 | | Society of Agriculture at the University of Illinois and the
| 3 | | ACES Award of Merit which recognizes the outstanding | 4 | | accomplishments of living University of Illinois College of | 5 | | ACES alumni who have excelled in their careers, leadership, or | 6 | | service upon graduation from college; and | 7 | | WHEREAS, Fred Bradshaw and his wife, Carole, visited all 50 | 8 | | states and 47 countries
on every continent except Antarctica; | 9 | | he enjoyed running the bulldozer on his
farm and visiting with | 10 | | his
grandchildren and attending their sporting events and other | 11 | | activities; and | 12 | | WHEREAS, Fred Bradshaw was a member of the Griggsville | 13 | | Masonic Lodge and Shriners,
the Griggsville United Methodist | 14 | | Church, and the Griggsville/Perry
American Legion; he served as | 15 | | a precinct committeeman
and vice chairman for the Pike County | 16 | | Republican Party; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Fred Bradshaw was preceded in death by his | 18 | | parents; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and | 19 | | Beulah Schulten; and his brothers-in-law,
Chuck Schulten and | 20 | | John Adams; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Fred Bradshaw is survived by his wife, Carole; his | 22 | | sons, Jeff (Erin), Eric, and Matt (Lori) Bradshaw; his

| 1 | | grandchildren, Sami, Lincoln, Jacob, Jane, Wesley, Cody, and | 2 | | Kyle Bradshaw; his brothers, Philip (Linda) and
Harvey (Judy) | 3 | | Bradshaw; his sisters-in-law,
Kay Adams and Sue (John) Bier;
| 4 | | and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 6 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 7 | | Frederick Lee "Fred" Bradshaw and extend our sincere | 8 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 9 | | him; and be it further
| 10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 | | presented to the family of Fred Bradshaw as an expression of | 12 | | our deepest sympathy.
