| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Joseph M. "Joe" Ambrose of Mahomet, | 4 | | formerly of LeRoy, who passed away on January 4, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Joe Ambrose was born in Peoria to Joseph J. and | 6 | | Charlotte M. Mittendorf Ambrose on July 28, 1957; he moved with | 7 | | his family to LeRoy in 1967, where he met his future wife, and | 8 | | they both graduated from LeRoy High School in 1975; he earned a | 9 | | bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Illinois in | 10 | | 1979, and married Julienne "Julie" Epperson in LeRoy on June | 11 | | 21, 1989; he then earned a law degree from Indiana University | 12 | | in 1982 and a master's in business administration from | 13 | | Northwestern University in 2001; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Joe Ambrose began his career as a lawyer with | 15 | | Bane, Allison, & Saint in 1982; he later worked for Saint & | 16 | | Ambrose, Hinshaw & Culbertson, and Costigan & Wollrab; in 2006, | 17 | | he joined Horizon Hobby and became C.E.O. in 2008; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Joe Ambrose was a member of the Board of Directors | 19 | | for First Busey Corporation, St. Mary Church in Downs, and the | 20 | | Champaign Country Club; he and Julie traveled frequently and | 21 | | visited 20 countries, Disney World, and their grandchildren; he | 22 | | loved motorcycles, reading, and spending time with friends and |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Joe Ambrose was preceded in death by his parents | 3 | | and his brother, Gregory R. Ambrose; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Joe Ambrose is survived by his wife, Julie; his | 5 | | children, Joseph Jacob (Danielle) Ambrose, Benjamin Matthew | 6 | | Ambrose, Bradley Conard (Sarah) Ambrose, and Megan Leta (David) | 7 | | Jones; his eight grandchildren; his brother, James (Kathryn) | 8 | | Ambrose; and his sisters, Julie Ambrose, Mary Ambrose, and | 9 | | Margaret Ambrose; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Joseph M. "Joe" Ambrose and extend our sincere condolences to | 13 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 14 | | further
