| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Velma M. Ambrose of Carlinville, who | 4 | | passed away on November 3, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Velma Ambrose was born in West Memphis, Arkansas | 6 | | to Homer and Jessie Paris Harding on January 1, 1920; she | 7 | | graduated from Scottville High School in 1938 and married Coy | 8 | | Wayne Ambrose in Bowling Green, Missouri on February 17, 1943; | 9 | | and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Velma Ambrose helped prepare taxes in the | 11 | | Scottville area for many years; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Velma Ambrose was a longtime 4-H leader and taught | 13 | | many area youngsters how to sew; she enjoyed painting, sewing, | 14 | | and spending time with her family; she was active in the Home | 15 | | Extension Project for several years; she was a member of the | 16 | | Scottville Christian Church; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Velma Ambrose was preceded in death by her | 18 | | husband, Coy; her parents; her sister, Elden Patterson; and two | 19 | | brothers; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Velma Ambrose is survived by her daughter, Janet |

| 1 | | (George) Dixon; her sons, David (Patty) Ambrose, and Terry | 2 | | (Lana) Ambrose; her grandchildren, Todd and Matt Dixon, Wade | 3 | | and Ryan Ambrose, and Lisa Templeton; 11 great-grandchildren; | 4 | | five great-great-grandchildren; and her brother, Carroll | 5 | | Woolfolk; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | Velma M. Ambrose, and extend our sincere condolences to her | 9 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 10 | | further
