| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Billy J. Doose of Milan, formerly of East | 4 | | Moline, who passed away on January 2, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Billy Doose was born in Amarillo, Texas to | 6 | | Lawrence and Agnes Crawford Doose on February 28, 1929; he | 7 | | married Carol Ball in Port Byron on July 16, 1983; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Billy Doose served in the United States Navy | 9 | | during World War II; he worked at John Deere Harvester Works as | 10 | | a steam hammer operator for 39 years, retiring in 1987; he | 11 | | later drove tours for the Harvester Works for another 12 years; | 12 | | and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Billy Doose and his wife, Carol, were always ready | 14 | | to volunteer for a worthy cause; together they founded the | 15 | | Hampton Towne Crier Newspaper; he was a life member of AMVETS, | 16 | | and was Citizen of the Year in 2002; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Billy Doose was preceded in death by his parents | 18 | | and a brother, Kenneth Doose; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Billy Doose is survived by his wife, Carol; his | 20 | | children, Ronald (JoAnn) Doose, Darrell (Mel) Doose, Sharon |

| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 6 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | 7 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Billy J. Doose, and | 8 | | extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all | 9 | | who knew and loved him; and be it further
| 10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 | | presented to the family of Billy Doose as an expression of our | 12 | | deepest sympathy.
