| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Bruce C. Ingersoll of Peoria, who passed | 4 | | away on October 23, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bruce Ingersoll was born on the family farm in | 6 | | Green Valley to Vernice G. and Marjorie (Dosier) Ingersoll on | 7 | | November 16, 1929; he graduated from from Woodruff High School | 8 | | in 1948 and served in the U.S. Air Force prior to attending | 9 | | Bradley University; he married Carol Weinberger at the First | 10 | | Baptist Church in Appleton, Wisconsin on April 10, 1949; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Bruce Ingersoll worked multiple jobs before | 12 | | becoming a Peoria firefighter, serving from 1957 to 1979; he | 13 | | retired with the rank of captain; he also founded several | 14 | | companies including, Ingersoll Building Products and Built | 15 | | Rite Construction, and he successfully guided these businesses | 16 | | for over 25 years; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Bruce Ingersoll was a Freemason at Illinois Lodge | 18 | | #263 A.F. & A.M for 50 years; he was a member of the Shriner's | 19 | | and the Peoria Consistory; he was a longtime member of the | 20 | | First Baptist Church of Peoria, where he was a deacon and | 21 | | served on the board of the Peoria Friendship House; he and | 22 | | Carol wintered at their home in Naples, Florida, where they |

| 1 | | enjoyed spending time with a large group of family and friends; | 2 | | and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Bruce Ingersoll is survived by his wife, Carol; | 4 | | his children, Peggy (Michael) Church, Karla (Dennis) Heinrich, | 5 | | Christopher (Katie) Ingersoll, and Susan (Douglas) Ahlemeyer; | 6 | | his grandchildren, Chad, Laura Brooke (Jimmy), Noelle, Nate | 7 | | (Sarah), Nick, Tricia (Greg), David, and Adam; and his | 8 | | great-grandchildren, Mia, Sam, Scarlett, Oliver, Elise, and | 9 | | Madeleine; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Bruce C. Ingersoll and extend our sincere condolences to his | 13 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 14 | | further
