| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Joseph | 4 | | C. "Joe" O'Donnell of Macomb, who passed away on March 17, | 5 | | 2021; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Joe O'Donnell was born in Brookhaven, Mississippi | 7 | | to Robert and Alice (Feeney) O'Donnell on December 29, 1951; | 8 | | he grew up in Joliet and graduated from Joliet Catholic High | 9 | | School in 1970 and the University of Notre Dame in 1974; he | 10 | | married Rita J. O'Donnell on November 9, 1974 and later | 11 | | graduated from John Marshall Law School; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Joe O'Donnell practiced law in Macomb for decades | 13 | | and served as the attorney for the Macomb Park District; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Joe O'Donnell was a member of St. Paul's Church | 15 | | and the McDonough County Bar Association; he had a wealth of | 16 | | friendships, maintaining many from his childhood and teenage | 17 | | years; he had a calm and thoughtful nature, and his humor was | 18 | | clever and quick; he enjoyed a good hamburger and vintage | 19 | | cars; he was a kind and generous man; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Joe O'Donnell was preceded in death by his | 21 | | mother, Alice; his brother, John Patrick O'Donnell; his |

| 1 | | sister, Margaret O'Donnell; and his infant brother, Robert | 2 | | Michael O'Donnell; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Joe O'Donnell is survived by his wife, Rita; his | 4 | | father, Robert E. O'Donnell; his brother, Jim O'Donnell; his | 5 | | sisters, Anne (Pete) Sticklen and Mary (D.J.) Balzer; and | 6 | | numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 8 | | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 9 | | we mourn the passing of Joseph C. "Joe" O'Donnell and extend | 10 | | our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who | 11 | | knew and loved him; and be it further
| 12 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 13 | | presented to the family of Joe O'Donnell as an expression of | 14 | | our deepest sympathy.
