| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Joseph L. McCormack, who passed away on | 4 | | January 10, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Joseph McCormack was born in Chicago to Luke | 6 | | Patrick and Cecelia Marie (Suprenant) McCormack on June 11, | 7 | | 1926; he attended Resurrection Parish and Grade School on the | 8 | | west side of Chicago and graduated early from St. Ignatius High | 9 | | School in Chicago so he could enlist in the United States Army | 10 | | Air Corps during World War II; he trained as a tail gunner on | 11 | | the B-29 Super Fortress bomber; following the war, he graduated | 12 | | from Loyola University and Loyola Dental School; he married | 13 | | Mary Virginia Lang in Chicago on September 12, 1953; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Joseph McCormack opened his own dental practice in | 15 | | Westchester and Woodstock, practicing dentistry for 38 years; | 16 | | he was an active member of the Chicago Dental Society; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Joseph McCormack enjoyed family vacations, fly | 18 | | fishing, and enjoying the outdoors; he and his wife were | 19 | | longtime members of St. Mary Church in Woodstock and supporters | 20 | | of St. Mary Grade School and Marian Central Catholic High | 21 | | School in Woodstock; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Joseph McCormack was preceded in death by his wife | 2 | | of 64 years, Mary; his parents, Luke and Cecelia; his twin | 3 | | brother, James; and his sister, Margaret; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Joseph McCormack is survived by his brother, | 5 | | Raymond; his children, Mary (Don) Harboway, Joseph (Cathy), | 6 | | Anthony (Teresa), Francis (Mary Kate), David (Heidi), Martin | 7 | | (Anne Marie), Peter (Ellen), Colin (Joanne), Cecilia (Kevin) | 8 | | Skelton, and Robert; and his grandchildren, August, Regina, | 9 | | Paul, Grace, Clare, Monique, Molly, Helen, Luke Francis, Maria, | 10 | | David, Aine, Mary Margaret, Brigid, Colin, Rosie, Aidan, Maura, | 11 | | Luke Patrick, and Amelia; therefore, be it
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 14 | | Joseph L. McCormack, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 15 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 16 | | further
