| 1 | | SENATE RESOLUTION
| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Lillie Pearl Williams, who passed away on | 4 | | June 19, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Lillie Williams was born on July 27, 1927 in | 6 | | Greenwood, Mississippi; her parents were George and Lillie | 7 | | Stigler; after the death of her parents, her older sister and | 8 | | brother-in-law moved the family to Chicago in 1942; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Lillie Williams worked for a fur company for many | 10 | | years and was able to look at mink coats and tell if they were | 11 | | real; she was later employed at the Brach's Candy Company; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Lillie Williams accepted Christ as her Lord and | 13 | | Savior at an early age; she later joined Proviso Missionary | 14 | | Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Claude Porter; and | 15 | | WHEREAS, Lillie Williams' home was always open to family | 16 | | members who needed her help; she enjoyed being around her good | 17 | | friends and family, especially her sisters; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Lillie Williams was preceded in death by her | 19 | | husband, Walter Williams; her parents; four sisters; and two | 20 | | brothers; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Lillie Williams is survived by her children, | 2 | | Walter, Jr., Lawrence, and Gloria Jean; her grandchildren and | 3 | | great-grandchildren; her sisters, Clara Hood and Lula (Evelyn) | 4 | | Strickland; her sister-in-law, Derethia Stigler; and many | 5 | | nephews, nieces and friends; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her | 8 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Lillie Pearl Williams; | 9 | | and be it further
| 10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 | | presented to the family of Lillie Williams as an expression of | 12 | | our sympathy.
