| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Dave Kruzil on the | 4 | | occasion of his retirement from the Lisle-Woodridge Fire | 5 | | Protection District; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Dave Kruzil began his career as a firefighter with | 7 | | the Lisle-Woodridge Fire Protection District in 1982; in 1984, | 8 | | he completed his training as a paramedic and began serving as a | 9 | | fire fighter/paramedic; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Dave Kruzil was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant | 11 | | in 1990; he was subsequently promoted to the rank of Captain in | 12 | | 1995 and the rank of Battalion Chief in 2005; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, During his 29-year career with the | 14 | | Lisle-Woodridge Fire Protection District, Dave Kruzil played | 15 | | an integral role in establishing the first ever State Wide | 16 | | Youthful Fire Setters Program; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Dave Kruzil was designated the Lisle-Woodridge | 18 | | Fire Protection District's "Fire Fighter of the Year" in 1987 | 19 | | and Outstanding Employee of the Year for the Village of | 20 | | Woodridge in 1987; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, During his 29-year career with the | 2 | | Lisle-Woodridge Fire Protection District, Dave Kruzil was the | 3 | | recipient of three Awards of Merit; in 1988, he was the | 4 | | recipient of the Award of Valor; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, During his career, Dave Kruzil attended the | 6 | | National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland multiple times | 7 | | and took numerous courses, including Command Staff and General | 8 | | Staff Functions in the Incident Command System, Command and | 9 | | Control of the Fire Department Operations at Target Hazards, | 10 | | Command and Control Decision Making at Multiple Alarm | 11 | | Incidents, and All Hazards Incident Management Team Training, | 12 | | Target Hazard Identification, and Incident Command | 13 | | Systems/NIMMS; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, During his career with the Lisle-Woodridge Fire | 15 | | Protection District, Dave Kruzil obtained numerous | 16 | | certifications, including State Certified Fire Fighter III, | 17 | | Fire Apparatus Engineer, Fire Officer I and II, Paramedic, Fire | 18 | | Investigator, Hazardous Materials Incident Command, Illinois | 19 | | Fire Service Multi-Company and Command, Illinois Fire Service | 20 | | Institute WMD Response and Hazardous Materials Incident | 21 | | Management, and Illinois Fire Service Incident Safety Officer; | 22 | | and
| 23 | | WHEREAS, On March 12, 2011, Dave Kruzil safely completed |

| 1 | | his last shift with the Lisle-Woodridge Fire Protection | 2 | | District, completing a wonderful 29 year career; therefore, be | 3 | | it
| 4 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 5 | | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 6 | | we congratulate Dave Kruzil on his retirement from the | 7 | | Lisle-Woodridge Fire Protection District and hope that he | 8 | | enjoys it with his wife, Denise, and his children, Lauren and | 9 | | Michelle; and be it further
| 10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 | | presented to Dave Kruzil at his retirement dinner on April 15, | 12 | | 2011 as a symbol of our respect, gratitude, and esteem.
