| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Everett Leo Kuntz of Normal, who passed | 4 | | away on June 15, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Everett Kuntz was born in Cropsey to Albert Joseph | 6 | | and Agnes Irene Sutter Kuntz on April 27, 1932; he attended | 7 | | Towanda High School for three years and graduated from Normal | 8 | | Community High School in 1949; he served as a U.S. Army staff | 9 | | sergeant during the Korean War from February of 1952 to | 10 | | September of 1953; he married Carolyn Anna Schenk at St. Mary's | 11 | | Church in Bloomington on June 5, 1954; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Everett Kuntz farmed in the Bloomington-Normal | 13 | | area from his childhood until 1970; he also worked for the | 14 | | State Farm Insurance Co., the City of Bloomington, the Northern | 15 | | Illinois Gas Co., the Second Presbyterian Church in | 16 | | Bloomington, and the Dairy Queen/Dairy Delight in Bloomington, | 17 | | where he and his wife were owner/operators from 1973 to 1979; | 18 | | he also worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation | 19 | | from June of 1985 until his retirement in January of 1999; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Everett Kuntz was a member of John H. Kraus VFW | 21 | | Post 454 in Bloomington and the Fr. John D. Ring Knights of | 22 | | Columbus Council 574 in Bloomington, where he was a 3rd Degree |

| 1 | | Knight; he was a 4th Degree Knight for Assembly 213; he enjoyed | 2 | | farming, auto and mechanical repair, reading, and visiting with | 3 | | his family; he was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Roman | 4 | | Catholic Church in Bloomington; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Everett Kuntz was preceded in death by his | 6 | | parents; his son, Michael Kuntz; his siblings, Loretta Carter, | 7 | | Russell, Patricia Stone, Donald, Joseph, and Mary; his | 8 | | granddaughters, Amy and Mary Grace Kuntz; his daughter-in-law, | 9 | | Karen Kuntz; his son-in-law, Tim Raube; his brothers-in-law, | 10 | | Leo Carter, W.E. Stone, Bill and Edgar Schenk, and Robert | 11 | | Norton; his sister-in-law, Leona Norton; and his stepmother, | 12 | | Blanche Kuntz; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Everett Kuntz is survived by his wife of 64 years, | 14 | | Carolyn; his sons, Joseph (Diana) Kuntz, John (Peg) Kuntz, and | 15 | | James (Mark Earle) Kuntz; his daughters, Marie (Terry) Dawson, | 16 | | Cheryl Kuntz, Martha Raube, Theresa (Mark) Kotte, and Barbara | 17 | | (Ken) Reece; his daughter-in-law, Michelle Kuntz; Sandra | 18 | | (Alan) Fedden, who was loved as a daughter; his grandchildren, | 19 | | Samantha (Jonathan) Fuchs, Jen (Lynn Hernbrott) Dawson, Nikki | 20 | | (Stacy Hinshaw) Dizon, Robin (Brian) Fisher, Angela (Brian) | 21 | | DeJaynes, Ashley Kuntz, Dillon (Taylor Joy) Raube, Kristin | 22 | | (Shane) Handley, Michele Kotte, Lynne Kotte, Jessica Reece, | 23 | | Jake (Elizabeth) Reece, Allie (Andy) Mlyniec, Andrew, Robby, | 24 | | and Maggie Kuntz, James Nemechek, and Katie (Ethan) Glasford; |

| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 14 | | Everett Leo Kuntz, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 15 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 16 | | further
| 17 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 18 | | presented to the family of Everett Kuntz as an expression of | 19 | | our deepest sympathy.
