| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Maura Cecilia Ordaz of Chillicothe, who | 4 | | passed away on February 22, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Maura Ordaz was born in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, | 6 | | Mexico to Carmen Sanchez and Macedonio Hernandez on November | 7 | | 22, 1925; she was raised in Veta Grande and Zacatecas, | 8 | | Zacatecas, Mexico; she married Jose (Joseph) Salvador Ordaz in | 9 | | Mexico in 1948; she moved to Chillicothe with her husband and | 10 | | family in 1957; she learned to speak English fluently by | 11 | | listening to her children and grandchildren and watching | 12 | | daytime television; she proudly became a naturalized U.S. | 13 | | citizen in 1990; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Maura Ordaz dedicated her life to caring for her | 15 | | family; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Maura Ordaz had a strong faith and was a member of | 17 | | St. Edward's Catholic Church in Chillicothe, where she served | 18 | | as a member of the Prayer Group; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Maura Ordaz was preceded in death by her husband, | 20 | | Jose; her children, Victor M., Roberto, Rebecca, and Ann E.; | 21 | | one of her grandchildren; and one of her great-grandchildren; |

(Fred) | 5 | | Lauber, and Teresa M. (Patrick) Ordaz-Wood; her grandchildren, | 6 | | Edward C. Ordaz, Tony Ordaz, Tanya L. Ordaz, Hollie M. Ordaz, | 7 | | Cameron Ordaz, Brodie Ordaz, Robert E. Ordaz, Bethany E. Ordaz, | 8 | | Michael E. Ordaz, Brianna Fagerburg, and Leah Ordaz; her 12 | 9 | | great-grandchildren; and her three great-great-grandchildren; | 10 | | therefore, be it
