| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Walter John "Walt" Ciesla, formerly of | 4 | | Waukegan, who passed away on April 4, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Walt Ciesla was born in Chicago to Sophie and | 6 | | Frank Ciesla; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Walt Ciesla's career spanned over 60 years, | 8 | | working for the Chicago Tribune and managing the Larsen and | 9 | | Peterson Paint, Hobbies and Toy Store and Interstate Electric | 10 | | in Waukegan; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Walt Ciesla was a Lake County board member and a | 12 | | city council alderman for the City of Waukegan; he was a | 13 | | fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a Past | 14 | | Grand Knight for Waukegan Council #731; and | 15 | | WHEREAS, Walt Ciesla retired to Sun City West, Arizona; he | 16 | | was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes of Sun City | 17 | | West, where he served as an usher; he was a Past Faithful | 18 | | Navigator for K.C. Sun City Assembly #1673; he served as a | 19 | | board member for the Sun City West (SCW) Foundation and PORA - | 20 | | Sun City West, where he served as Chairman of the Bingo | 21 | | Committee; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Walt Ciesla enjoyed his weekly trips to the local | 2 | | casino; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Walt Ciesla was preceded in death by his wife, | 4 | | Dorothy Mazner; his parents; and eight siblings; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Walt Ciesla is survived by his children, Richard | 6 | | (Margaret) Ciesla and Janet (Harold) Cox; his siblings, Edward | 7 | | Ciesla and Lillian McCune; his grandchildren, Kendra (Byron), | 8 | | Carolyn, Katie (Eric), Lauren (Eric), and Bryan; and his | 9 | | great-grandchildren, Emma, Elle, Liam, Frances, Ethan, and | 10 | | Weston; therefore, be it
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 13 | | Walter John "Walt" Ciesla, and extend our sincere condolences | 14 | | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | 15 | | it further
