| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Roger David Nordstrom of Moline, who | 4 | | passed away on February 14, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Roger Nordstrom was born in Moline to David and | 6 | | Florence Otterdahl Nordstrom on April 5, 1930; he graduated | 7 | | from Moline High School as Senior Class President in 1948 and | 8 | | from Augustana College in 1952, where he sang in the choir; he | 9 | | served for 2 years in the United States Army during the Korean | 10 | | Conflict; he married Janice Helen Liljegren in Moline on April | 11 | | 20, 1957; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, After returning from the service, Roger Nordstrom | 13 | | began working for Deere Harvester Works, retiring after 30 | 14 | | years from the Product Engineering Department; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Roger Nordstrom was a lifelong member of First | 16 | | Covenant Church, where he held many leadership roles and sang | 17 | | in the church choir for more than 53 years; he enjoyed | 18 | | gardening, traveling, caring for others, and above all, was | 19 | | devoted to God and his family; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Roger Nordstrom was preceded in death by his | 21 | | parents and his sister, Virginia Havener; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Roger Nordstrom is survived by his loving wife, | 2 | | Janice; his sons, Chuck (Therese) Nordstrom, Brad Nordstrom, | 3 | | and Greg (Lara) Nordstrom; his grandchildren, Elizabeth | 4 | | (Charles) Stineford, Jen (Sergio Gomez) Nordstrom, Matt | 5 | | Nordstrom, Benjamin Nordstrom, Jonathan Nordstrom, and | 6 | | Christian Nordstrom; his sister, Rosemary (Glen) Soderstrom; | 7 | | and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | Roger David Nordstrom, and extend our sincere condolences to | 11 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 12 | | further
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of Roger Nordstrom as an expression of | 15 | | our deepest sympathy.
