| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Mario Almanza of Moline, who passed away | 4 | | on October 23, 2020; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Mario Almanza was born in Moline to John and | 6 | | Virginia (Navarro) Almanza on October 12, 1957; he served in | 7 | | the U.S. Army from 1978 to 1981; he married Tracy Petrie in Las | 8 | | Vegas, Nevada on November 4, 1989; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Mario Almanza worked as a laboratory technician | 10 | | for the city of Moline for 36 years; he took great pride in his | 11 | | work; he also served as the Moline Water Department's mascot | 12 | | Splash; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Mario Almanza enjoyed ice fishing, feeding and | 14 | | watching birds, music, cars, electronics, and shopping; his | 15 | | favorite teams were the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears; he | 16 | | loved life and his dog Chewy; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Mario Almanza was preceded in death by his parents | 18 | | and his brother, Ricky Almanza; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Mario Almanza is survived by his wife, Tracy; his | 20 | | children, April Childs and Ryan Almanza; his siblings, Rosemary |

| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 6 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 7 | | Mario Almanza and extend our sincere condolences to his family, | 8 | | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
| 9 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 10 | | presented to the family of Mario Almanza as an expression of | 11 | | our deepest sympathy.
