| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Rodney E. Bruner of East Moline, who | 4 | | passed away on January 15, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Rodney Bruner was born in Moline to Richard and | 6 | | Lucille Strother Bruner on December 29, 1933; he graduated from | 7 | | Moline High School, where he played 3 sports, including | 8 | | quarterback for the football team, and was the class President; | 9 | | he served in the United States Army and was stationed in | 10 | | Orleans, France; he married Barbara Jean Lutz in Rock Island on | 11 | | January 24, 1959; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Rodney Bruner worked in the Personnel Department | 13 | | at John Deere, retiring in 1987; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Rodney Bruner was a member of Christ United | 15 | | Methodist Church in East Moline; he was an advisor for Junior | 16 | | Achievement, served as Membership Chairman for the Willow | 17 | | Springs Swim Club, coached baseball for the Babe Ruth League | 18 | | and the East Moline American Legion, and served on the Board of | 19 | | Directors for the East Moline Visiting Nurses; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Rodney Bruner was preceded in death by his | 21 | | parents; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Rodney Bruner is survived by his wife, Barbara; | 2 | | his children, William and Roberta Bruner, Suzanne and Clifford | 3 | | Carlson, Scott and Jackie Bruner, and Jeffrey Bruner; his 5 | 4 | | grandchildren; his 2 step-grandchildren; and his 2 | 5 | | great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | Rodney E. Bruner, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 9 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 10 | | further
| 11 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 12 | | presented to the family of Rodney Bruner as an expression of | 13 | | our deepest sympathy.
