| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of William L. "Bill" Portugue of Edgington, | 4 | | who passed away on September 27, 2020; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bill Portugue was born to C. Quentin and Helen M. | 6 | | Portugue on November 8, 1947; he graduated from Winola High | 7 | | School in 1965 and married Roxie on November 28, 1970; he | 8 | | served in the United States Coast Guard from 1970 to 1974 and | 9 | | was a reservist for many years; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Bill Portugue retired from John Deere in 2012
| 11 | | after 46 years; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Bill Portugue enjoyed lighthouses, the water, | 13 | | traveling with his wife and family, staying home, and history; | 14 | | most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and | 15 | | teaching his grandchildren about nature; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Bill Portugue was preceded in death by his | 17 | | parents; his brother, Michael; and his son, David; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Bill Portugue is survived by his children, Tonya | 19 | | Odgen, Kathy (Steve) Hyde, and William D. (Angela) Portugue; | 20 | | his grandchildren, Amber, Kayla, Kim, Kelly, Lindsey, Dalton, |

| 4 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 5 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 6 | | William L. "Bill" Portugue and extend our sincere condolences | 7 | | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | 8 | | it further
