| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Gerald Lore "Jerry" Devereaux, who passed | 4 | | away on December 4, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Gerald Devereaux was born in Wisconsin to Orton | 6 | | and Mary (nee Beebe) Devereaux in December of 1917; he moved to | 7 | | Mundelein in 1929 and lived there until 2014; he married Ethel | 8 | | Tonne on May 16, 1940; he served his country in the United | 9 | | States Navy as a Seabee during World War II, stationed in the | 10 | | Aleutian Islands; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Gerald Devereaux was a carpenter and craftsman; he | 12 | | worked at Rieke and Pepper Construction during the course of | 13 | | his life and was a member of Carpenters Local #250 for over 60 | 14 | | years; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Gerald Devereaux was an avid reader, fisherman, | 16 | | and gardener; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Gerald Devereaux was preceded in death by his | 18 | | parents; his sisters, Donna Hanson, Ardyce Chandler, and | 19 | | Dorothy Sanders; his brother, Clifford Devereaux; and his | 20 | | daughter, Joan Ann Cross Meyer; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Gerald Devereaux is survived by his wife of 75 | 2 | | years, Ethel; his children, Alan (Gale) Devereaux and Susan | 3 | | (Stanley) Kendzior; his 8 grandchildren, Ronald (Kathy) Cross, | 4 | | David (Cheryl) Cross, Gerald Cross, Erik (Veronica) Devereaux, | 5 | | Mark (Kristine) Devereaux, Rock (Michelle) Kendzior, Kirk | 6 | | Kendzior, and Brittany Kendzior-Spangler (Blaine); his 17 | 7 | | great-grandchildren; and his great-great-granddaughter; | 8 | | therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | Gerald Lore "Jerry" Devereaux, and extend our sincere | 12 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 13 | | him; and be it further
| 14 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 15 | | presented to the family of Gerald Devereaux as an expression of | 16 | | our deepest sympathy.
